Hi, I dont understand where to begin w/ this Gchem question. Your help is appreciated it. And yes, I looked for the answer myself and tried doing it...but no luck 😡

If all of the chloride in a 5.0-gram sample
of an unknown metal chloride is precipitated
as AgCI with 70.9 milliliters of 0.201
MAgNO, what is the percentage of chloride
in the sample?

Thank you!!

Is the answer 10%?

If it is, here it goes

first, let's assume that metal chloride is XCl

AgNO + XCl -> AgCl + XNO

(70.9mL)(0.201M)=14.3 mmol AgNO

since all of the chloride reacted, there is 14.3 mmol of Cl in metal chloride
therefore,

(14.3mmol Cl)(35.45mg/mmol)=507mg Cl

(507mg/5000mg)*100%= 10.14%
