Help w/ Bootcamp Pattern-folding

Hey all - could use some help on pattern folding!

I've watched @Ari Rezaei 's video on pattern folding twice now. In the video, he covers dice folding and "unique shape" folding. These are much easier for me to eliminate wrong answers / get the right answer!

When it comes to folding blocks that have parts of each face shaded (or any combo of that sort), I start having issues. It seems to me like the only way to conquer these problems is to fold the whole object in your head, which I find almost impossible!! It's not as easy for me to eliminate wrong answers like it is for dice/weird shapes. Any advice?

He mentions that don't try to picture the shape by folding it in your head and twisting it around. Just focus on one area of the pattern. First look for any unique features. If they are all the same, but different colors, then try to look at the sides that you see and figure out from there. After his video, I went from 10/15 to 15/15 on pattern folding. Only thing giving me trouble on BC PAT is keyholes.

How are you doing on TFE? I'm having a lot of trouble with them and Keyholes from BC

Yeah I totally remember him saying that, but it's hard sometimes. On some problems, I can recognize that the shading/patterns aren't aligned appropriately, so I can mark those answer choices off immediately. However, sometimes I blunder since, even though the pattern shown in the answer choice is properly aligned, the overall shape may not be oriented correctly (i.e. what you can't see with a given configuration is actually incorrect).

I guess I'll just have to practice some more...
