help w/ practice test question

I took a practice OAT on Fri. and was going over my questions and was wondering if someone can help me figure one out:
Q: When empty, the mass of a beaker is 115 g. When filled with 300 mL of an unknown liquid, the combined mass is 427 g. What volume (in mL) would 1 kg of the liquid occupy?
a. (300)(1000)/(427-115)
b. (300)(1000)(427-115)
c. (427-115)(1000)(300)
d. 300/427
e. 300/(427-115)

I put answer c, and figure out why it's a. Any help?

300ml divided by the mass of the 300 ml (427-115 g) will give you the amount of ml for one gram. For 1 kg you just multiple by 1000 g. The grams cancel and give you the amount of ml for 1 kg. Hope I said that clearly!

I typed the answer that I chose wrong. It was actually written to be:
(427-115)(1000)/(300), but I think I understand what your saying. You found the answer in mL/kg, and I tried to find it in kg/mL. Do I understand this correctly? Thank you so much for your help!!!
