Help Wanted in Mentor Forum

Are you interested in becoming a member of the SDN volunteer staff? The Mentor Forum staff members are seeking a Research and Recruitment Assistant to help with our efforts to locate professionals to join the Mentor team. This is an entry-level SDN advisor position.

Job Duties:

• Use a dedicated account to search the SDN forums for helpful members who represent their professions well and like to work with others.
• Contact potential mentors via private message and present information about the Mentor program and invite them to apply.
• Use the internet to search mentor resources offered by other professional organizations and compile information for use by Mentor Coordinator and Assistant Mentor Coordinator.

Qualities Desired in an Applicant:

• Organized
• Professional
• Able to interact with students and professionals in a polite and appropriate manner
• Excellent written communication

• Include your name and your status (pre-professional, professional student).
• Write a short (3-5 sentence) statement about why you are interested in the position and summarizing your qualifications.
• Your post and disciplinary history on SDN will be checked.

Estimated Time Commitment: 1-3 hours per week

Activities will be very similar as those described above but may include other projects or responsibilities.
