Hi guys!
I'm having a really hard time on bio section. I'm following ari's study guide and I have been reviewing Cliff's AP bio BUT i keep fo rgetting everything I learned. I know that I understand and remember concepts better when someone teaches me so I'm thinking of watching vdos on youtube. I know AK lectures were helpful whenI took biochem. Any other suggestiosn?? Or if anyone used AK lectures to study for DAT, were they helpful?? I'm stressing out right now because I have DAT in one month and i feel like I have to relearn bio now instead of doing practice questions.
thanks in advance!!!

I think that retaining bio in your head has more to do with active learning and reinforcement (thinking about the material as you're learning it, seeing how it fits in with other information you've learned, reinforcing the material by trying to memorize, taking quizzes on material you've just reviewed to test whether you really understood it, etc.) than the source of the content itself. I would suggest taking notes as you review Cliff's as this will keep your mind more engaged in the process and give you condensed material to review periodically to keep from forgetting it.

Khan Academy has some useful videos on specific topics but I honestly can't say I've seen a series of videos that's comprehensive enough by itself to be used instead of a real textbook source (like Cliff's). You may want to try Examkrackers bio textbook (normally used for the MCAT) as it's somewhat easier to digest, but even that won't cover everything you need to know (e.g. plants).

I feel your pain. There is no way out of the Biology, believe me I tried.
I finally succumbed to my destiny and started reading Cliff and feralis notes, wish I had started earlier.

Anyway, but I found this channel today by accident and thought I would share it with you, they have some useful Bio videos 91 videos.
Also in this post, we shared many useful bio and other materials resources.

Let's share helpful resources with each others (dat takers)

Bozeman videos are really good too
also Craig's videos are really good
Craig Savage

The way to make the videos useful, write notes while watching the videos. So the videos of 10 minutes will take about 40 minutes to an hour with notes. But it is worth it.
Without notes, you can't really remember much.

Best of luck.

Bio is pure memorization. There is no way around it. Everyone memorizes differently. I found the most useful thing for bio is to make your own notes. But you have 1 month before the DAT. It might be wise to move the DAT back to focus on biology depending how much you still need to learn
