Hello I'm in my junior year and in the end of this semester im going to have about 90credits.
I really hate my university, and the proffesors are so weird in here they don't even help you at ALL. And I have also failed 3classes. My sgpa it's low about 2.9 without including those 3f's...I was thinking to transfer in a new school retake all my bad grades and start fresh. I feel so bad in here I swear it's just horrible ..Since DOmed takes the highest grade , what do you guys think should I transfer, start fresh??? Do med school ask why did u transfer??is it bad to transfer? bc of the last qs I never transfered I have heard it's bad to transfer especially if you are a pre-med....
I know a lot of students ask this qs but pls I'm really confused I feel like stuck don't know what to do and well because of my 3f's i feel like what if i do all this things and not accepted>well I guees it's 2early to think for that since i have to retake classes, and I stll do have a lot of science classes to take.
Danke 🙁 thanks

If its obviously not working for you at this school I would transfer. 3f's in science courses doesn't look so good, retakes should be in order. I'm not sure how they will view a transfer, but maybe you can convey that it wasn't working out for you at this school.

I don't think a transfer would be ideal here. Your location says Queens, so I am going to assume that you are attending a SUNY or a CUNY. If your grades continue to be poor as a junior, it probably means you are not studying as nearly enough or studying ineffectively.
Please do not take this offensively, but I feel like your professors are not to be blamed here. It is ultimately, you, who is responsible for learning the materials.

Instead of transferring, I would highly consider withdrawing from the school. I heard cases in which schools allow students to start fresh after certain period of time (e.g. RPI does this for dismissal or withdrawl). Transferring to a new school with, what I suspect your poor studying skills or immaturity, will not bring any better results.

DO application does allow you to replace your lower grade. However, they will know that you have repeated the classes and will probably mention it during the interview.

TL;DR - Poor studying skills or immaturity at fault for poor grades, don't transfer. Reconsider career path or taking time off to focus.

P.S. Lot of things I said on my post is basically a conjecture based on things I heard from similar cases. If it does not apply to you, then I apologize for assuming such case.

Unfortunately, it's impossible to start "fresh" in undergrad. Medschools will require you send them all college transcripts, even from your current school... so they will see your lower grades.

However, I urge you to relax a bit OP. Despite your unfortunate situation, there are many positives as well. First, the fact you haven't performed well in science classes may not completely be a reflection of you (if it is... stop reading this post and rethink your study habits/career choice). So knowing this, if you transfer to a better school you will probably perform better automatically just because you'll have more dedicated teachers. Hope that makes sense.

Another plus is that you haven't taken many science classes, so there's still lots and lots of room to improve your GPA, do well in your upper-level courses, and show a fantastic upward trend. Retaking those F's will significantly boost your sGPA and consequently, your cGPA as well.

So I recommend you do transfer. Many people do it, and I doubt you'll be asked about it at all unless your interviewer is genuinely curious... but it won't reflect on you negatively as an applicant. It may even show that you took initiative for your future. It may become a hassle when applying though, since you'll have to contact your current school for your transcript to be sent to AACOMAS, in addition sending in the transcript from your future school... but if you stay on top of things, it'll all be good. This minor inconvenience will just be a small pebble in your way during the application process.

It's amazing how much positive influence a great college science department can have on you as a science student (I was fortunate to have this). If you feel you work hard, and it's the teachers at your current school who can't hold up their end... you should do yourself the favor and transfer.

Yes!

Since DOmed takes the highest grade , what do you guys think should I transfer, start fresh???

Maybe. We WILL ask about the poor grades.

Do med school ask why did u transfer??

No. It's rather common.
is it bad to transfer?

Plenty of time to turn things around. I'd get that depression looked at. Please go talk to your doctor, counselor, or a therapist.

I know a lot of students ask this qs but pls I'm really confused I feel like stuck don't know what to do and well because of my 3f's i feel like what if i do all this things and not accepted

I do thank the person who wrotte it
But what I know as being a student is 'the important thing is not to stop questioning. Curiosity has it's own reason for existing' everybosy wants to be somebody and that's why im here asking for more ideas and opinions. Really thanks for giving me hopes that there is time for improvemetns but no i don't need to see a doctor or a therapist why>becasue im just a young student who is looking for some options ....again thanks (I didn't mean it in bad way )

I got my associates degree at one university and transferred and finished my B.S. at another and was never asked about the first university in any of my four interviews. But I was asked about poor grades on my transcript (silly history classes).
