should i call the med schools?

There are some schools that I applied to in late auugst but have still not gotten back to me. I was hoping if I could call them and ask for an update regarding my application?
Will that annoy them? also any tips on what else I should say? I also want to show some sort of intrest

yea but there is one particular school thats super close to where my aunt lives and i think i would like to go there and live with my aunt during the first two years of med school aka pre clinical years before the rotations

i heard it shows intrest if you call and youre like "hey im just calling to express my intrest in x school and i was wondering if i could get an update regarding my status"
also i interviewed at the school and its been many months since the interview so dont think its too out of the ordinary to call?

I don't know where you heard this, but no. Calling admissions randomly like this has been out of place at least as long as the online portal systems have been used.
