I'm in a bit of a pickle. !!!

I first took my DAT in July 2014 having avg TS and AA of 19 and pat 15

Just finished second time but got 17-18 TS and AA but my PAT got 17

My gpa is 3.00 overall, non-science 3.33 and science not too hot.

What to do, retake again or just apply for masters?

Hey Shannon, it would be best to retake again. I would run through destroyer 2-3 times and BC 2x. it also helps to write down the mistakes you make and review them over and over. If you do a masters and complete it with 3.7+ and score a 20AA or higher on the DAT you should be set based on what I've read on here.

If I were to retake it when would it be the best time to retake it?

I am in a similar situation myself. If you are struggling with the BIO in Destroyer, then I strongly suggest Qvault Bio. I head the whole Qvualt program is good, actually, but I only used it for the Bio. I found the Destroyer Bio to be a bit too in depth and there was a lot of stuff that you probably won't see on the DAT in destroyer.

While destroyer is considered "overkill", it really helps with those 3-5 problems on the DAT sciences that are designed to trip you up. Thorough review of destroyer will help you with those specific problems, but what about stuff like punnet squares or embryology? I found those best to look up online and review them in Cliff's AP biology.

However, Math destroyer I found to be most like the real test. Even though I did very poorly on the QR section, I feel like if I completed more of math destroyer, and went through it three times, then I probably would have been set.

As they said above, maybe apply for a masters in biomedical sciences? I also applied to some of those in addition to dental school. Good luck

Thanks! Yeah I'm applying to masters in addition to dental school. Going to whichever floats the boat!
