Hey guys, so some of my rejection letters I am unable to find. I was hoping to start a thread for all of those in the same situation. Not sure where I placed my letters for Iowa, Illinois, Oklahoma, Purdue, and Minnesota. Also just wondering, what I can expect when I call...I'm a little nervous 😳

Here are the ones I was able to find:

Mississippi- Late April

Ohio- Contact Office of Veterinary Student Affairs before end of spring quarter. To schedule an appt with an admissions counselor call (614)292-8831

Tufts- Contact Laura Fuller, admissions counselor. Appts. early March through September. Call late Feb. to schedule an appt

Western: Contact your admissions counselor in May to schedule a person application review appt in June or July.

Good questions. I don't have any answers, but rather more questions.

I know NCSU does not provide individual feedback regarding rejected applications. Has anyone else had success getting personal feedback from different sources at NCSU regarding rejected applications? One of my dearest friends was not accepted and I am try to help her find as much info as possible. I know about the group session, but she is looking for more specific feedback.

hmmm some of the offices i have heard about are UF and LSU, They said after may 1st.

What to expect really just depends on who and where you are talking about. I mean most of the time they'll be pretty honest (which might be brutal for some). They'll tell you exactly what youm migth need to improve in order to be a better applicant. although in some cases (like a friend of mine last year) they outright told her that she was good enough, there were just better applicants. Just dont be afraid to call, it will be helpful in the long run. I've been in contact with the admissions officer at my instate since my freshman year of undergrad, and each year I met with him, he told me where i could improve and what i could do to make my application better. My guess is that they will do the same for rejected and repeat applicants. They are pretty nice about the whole thing and for the most part really want to try and help you if you are going out searching for the hlwep.

For Purdue they will mail you this sheet that shows where your stats are and for some things rates how well you did. Ex. One section lists interview and LORS and they circle poor good or excellent. I would just email the admissions person and request that they send you that. As far as getting any more in depth info I am not sure. Last year I asked if I could meet with someone to discuss my app and they just said they would send me the profile thing. I didn't find that sheet very helpful since it was so general, so if you want better advice maybe you just need to be more demanding! lol

Illinois: Individual sessions available every Tuesday and Thursday March 10 - May 28. Call to schedule a time. Mary Kelm is who you will speak to, and she is EXTREMELY nice 🙂 No need to be nervous at all. She spends a lot of time reviewing your application beforehand, and goes over it in great detail. Tells you all the good points about your application, and will tell you where you need to improve. She really boosted my self esteem! (even though I didn't get accepted haha).

Just a note... she said this was a REALLY competitive year... EXTREMELY competitive. She has never seen anything like it! So you may have been a good candidate, but they had a really high cut-off for the first round this year.

I had my postmortem with Minnesota last week. I just called and set up an appt with the reception and was told I could do it over the phone or in person. I opted to do it over the phone so the admissions director just called me at the time we set up.

Here is the thread where I posted my experience:

Good luck, hopefully they will give you some insight. Unfortunately I was just more frustrated after mine.
