Hey guys,

So I understand that application opens up May 1st for the 2014 cycle but June 1st is when we can submit the applications.

I will have all grades/prereqs done by end of semester (may 15th). I currently have 7 LORs (my school chooses 3-4 to send).

Only thing(and the biggest) that I am lacking is my MCAT. I will be taking it May 18th-23rd. I will get the results back June 18-25 (depending on which one i take). Thus I am confused as to what I should do to get my app in as soon as possible.

So when june 1st comes up, submit the app with transcript etc right? Does this require my MCAT? Is this considered "complete"?

Also when do I submit secondaries? After I am verified?

Sorry I am freaking out.

Submit everything you have day 1 and add your mcat when it's ready.

Your app won't be complete until the MCAT sends in the scores, however, you can still submit June 1st, and it helps to do so... then everything will get verified ASAP, and your MCAT will submit as soon as it's ready and everything gets sent to the schools ASAP... Absolutely submit without the MCAT...

Submit your AACOMAS application on June 1st. Your MCAT scores are not required for AACOMAS to process your primary application, verify it, and send it to the schools (not totally sure about them sending it to the schools, but that was my impression - your MCAT scores are more part of the secondary app). Once the schools receive your primary application they will send you the secondary application, and you will be complete when your MCAT scores, LORs, and the rest of the secondary application is in.

So, in short, submit AACOMAS June 1st, send your MCAT scores once they become available, and submit your LORs and secondary essays after your schools send you the secondary application.

I have nothing else to add, except that I was hoping that it was a post by another game-less premed needing advice to get dates.

Back to topic: what wise minds above wrote.

When do interviews typically begin? Late August/September?

Does AACOMAS verify your file even without your MCAT score? If not, I'd rather wait until I get my score and send everything in compared to being put on hold.

Occasionally they do, but there's no way to guarantee it. It happened to me and a few other people on SDN last cycle. I had the entire primary completed (11/11 steps completed) by early May and I was verified around May 20th even though I didn't have my MCAT scores and I hadn't submitted it. It's rare, though, so I wouldn't count on it.
