hey pharm students/pre-pharm students :meanie:,

Can anyone help me please?

When filing FAFSA, there was one question regarding in your upcoming college level or what degree(s) you're pursuing? Do you put it as "professional/graduate" program as you entering Pharmacy School or "5th year undergraduate"?

Do you considered first year pharmacy school as a graduate program? or still undergraduate?

What private loan can I take as a first year pharmacy student? And again, would I use the undergraduate loan? or graduate loan?

I would call the school that I'm enrolled in right now for help. But they a pain in the butt to get in touch with 😕. So if anyone can shed some lights on me that would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks 😍

It depends on the school. How many pre reqs do they need? If it's two years or less, you're an undergrad. If it's three years or more then you're a grad student.

Oh I see!!
So If it's a 2 years pre-reqs then you would use an undergrad private loan? and if 3 or higher years of pre-reqs you can you GradPlus loans?

Or GradPlus loan can be use for any students that are qualified for it?

Thanks

Unfortunately this is one thing you do need to know from your school. Most schools consider your first year as a graduate student, but some do still consider you an undergraduate. You can always submit the FAFSA and then go back and change it if you put in the wrong designation. Try to get as much of the federal loans before you get private loans as they interest rates are better. GradPlus loans are only for graduate students.

It depends on the school. Xavier University considers P1 and P2 undergraduate instead of graduate because they are a 2+4 program. They are trying to get it changed to graduate this year, but I haven't heard if it is approved or not. I will check when I get there tomorrow.

Hey Tootoo, keep me updated if you don't mind. Thanks

If you've been accepted to a school, check with their financial aid department, they can get you set up.

I know that at SJF, you have to have 90 credits or more coming in or else you're undergrad. I managed to scare up 82.5 credits in 5 semesters at ECC, so I'm taking two science courses over the summer to bump me up past 90. If only I hadn't taken the easy road and gone with only 13 credits this semester and 14.5 another semester, I'd have my summer free.
