help with FAFSA

You can do both. You can include even the schools you didn't hear from and also you can add the schools later on. Atleast this is what I understood 😀

well there is room for six on the fafsa and i have six that i listed (some with acceptances and some hopefuls)... but if something (not in that list of six) were to miraculously come through--say in may or june--like say Columbia were to beg me to attend even though they have not given me the time of day to date and are not likely to...
... but IFFFFFFF....after the FAFSA has been submitted, is there any provision for changing schools? (i see no point in taking up one of my six slots with a remote possiblity so have filled those with more likely options.)

There are always people who get accepted from waitlists. This same topic came up at Ucinny financial aid presentation the other day and the guy told it is possible. 🙂 And BTW never underestimate the miracles, you could be begged by some school you didn't even apply( the cahnces are 1 in zillion) 😀

To send the FAFSA to more than 6 schools you have to submit FAFSA and wait till you get your SAR and then resubmit the SAR with different schools listed (I found this out from the FAQ page on the FAFSA site...)
The earlier you submit your FAFSA, the better. Schools don't have unlimited money to give out, and even with loans its better to submit earlier.

VeggieGal said:anyone listing a school on their fafsa to which they have yet to be invited to interview? i am putting 5 schools that i interviewed at, but i don't want to waste the extra slot and am thinking of just adding another school.
Yes, I did. I completed fafsa on 7th and included the name of the school I interviewed on 10th.

Yay! Snuffles the bear, or Snuffles the Sirius dog?
After you resubmit SAR with the corrections, do you get another confirmation email, or can you resubmit another corrections with the other schools? I'm just listing all the schools, even the ones I haven't heard from.
Thanks.
so to get this straight. We can only list max 6 schools on the intial FAFSA. Then after we receive a SAR (what is this?). We can use the SAR to submit to additional schools (which I'm assuming will not have a max school limit?).
thank you for your advice beforehand!

There's still a limit, of 6. You make the corrections on the SAR, basically where you edit it by deleting the previous schools, and sticking in the new schools in the orginal six slots.
okay, can somone clarify this once and for all...
1. you can submit to maximum of six schools. so you submit... all six will get a report initially.
2. you get a SAR (can someone please explain what this is and when you get it?) and you make corrections to it. does this mean that new schools will get your information?
3. can you correct again to add more schools?
please understand that i am not assuming that i will be accepted to more than six schools. it is just that at this point, there are three for sure but i am not sure which OTHER three (of a ton i applied to) to include. so if i know more in march-june, will it be possible to add those in at that time or will it be too late?
whew.
