I have 15 experiences listed, but am wondering if i should slim it down. For example, I have multiple (yet different) awards for the same research, so should i combine them some how like Nat'l Sci Found/Academic Student Project Grant? I also have a q? if I should combine Dean's list and Cum laude, or just keep the cum laude and add something interesting like windsurfing. Thanks to anyone who can give me some advice.

I'm placing my honors status in with dean's list and a few other academic awards just to consolidate everything and have room for playing the banjo. A lot of folks are going to have different small academic awards so I think it's good enough to put the small stuff together in order to have room for things that allow schools to see other sides of you.

I'm going with the consolidated route. Not only will it give me something worth talking about in the description but also it will appear less likely that I am 'padding' and will allow more room for other EC's.

I suggest putting all academic awards in one EC and all research awards in another. Just my opinion.

Hmm...maybe I don't have as many awards as you guys, but I just listed and described all my awards under one EC called "honors/awards" or something

I consolidated all of my academic awards but one big one in one EC. I did two research projects, and used one slot for each. Any awards/posters/presentations/publications I got from that research was included in the research EC. If I had a big publication, it would have gotten its own slot, but I did't.

Your GPA and transcript will reveal all of your academic strengths they want to know- the Dean's list etc. just looks like padding unless it's included in a stream of academic awards in one slot. My opinion, though.
