a great way to get some LORs would be to call the state AOA office and tell them what is going on and that you need to do some shadowing.. they will be happy to set you up, there are many kcumb alumni in town right this very moment actually...
a 13 on the mcat will basically keep you out, just by itself. the lowest i have heard ever was a 17, and the 17 had a lot of other stuff that made him look reallllllly exceptional. u really need to study up for the test before you take it again, if you repeat a low score, it will look even worse than a low score by itself, what you want to do is make the 13 look like a fluke. i am assuming you have had the basic organic chem, biology, anatomy, chemistry, physics, and english reading classes in college, so you should go back and review that stuff very hard; a review class like another posted suggested would be very beneficial but try to start as early as you can with it so you get to go to the class for a longer period of time instead of trying to cram it all.
kcumb is a great school and very friendly. if you are serious about going there, i would also suggest talking to them about things you could do.
good luck.
