Hello,
I am done with all my science pre-reqs and I want to take the Pcat in June. The problem is...the aplication says that I can pick up to 3 schools for free and the rest are $20.00 each. I want to be realistic and I know this 1st Pcat score won't be the best one so I don't want to spend all that kind of money sending scores that are not worth it. My question is: lets say that I do well on this first PCAT, can I pay them later to send the scores to other schools that i didn't select in the application ?
I know my Oct. PCAT score will probably be the best and then I will apply to every single school that I have in mind. But I don't want to take the chance of the first one beeing the best score and never be able t report it.
Another question: there is no essay required for the PCAT application but there is one for the Pharmcas application right?
Pharmcas application won't be availavle until June, does anybody have any idea of what the essay will be about? is it usually the same topic as previous years?
Thank you

If the schools you are thinking about use pharmcas, then you will only send your pcat score to pharmcas not to each individual school. Yes, you can order scores after you've taken the test. Thats what I did since, and I think it was ~$20.

The topic of the pharmcas essay is more or less why you want to be a pharmacist. This is the instruction section from the essay, "Your Personal Statement should address why you selected pharmacy as a career and how the Doctor of Pharmacy degree relates to your immediate and long-term professional goals." There is an essay question on pcat now. Someone else will have to tell you about that since I took it before they added the essay.

I took the essay for the pcat, it's on random topics and it changes from test to test. It's not hard and it's scored from 1-5. When I applied for the pcat, I paid to have it sent to every school I applied to. YOU DON'T NEED TO DO THAT, just send one copy to pharmcas and one to any school that doesn't use pharmcas applications.
