I've got what I consider sufficient content, but I am just unsure how I should structure some certain things. I am a non-trad who worked all throughout undergrad as a nurse. I was also a crap student at the beginning of my career (had a sub 3 GPA when I graduated from nursing school). I feel like my personal statement is an opportunity to somewhat "explain" my academic journey, but at what point does your writing become less of an explanation of your journey to excuses?

Trying to understand exactly how much I should divulge (working full-time, working 12 hr shifts on nights, learning to become a dad x2, wife also had some postpartum issues).

If anyone has time/would care to spend time helping me get an idea of how to arrange my PS and what to focus on, I would really appreciate it.

Keep in mind the intended purpose of the PS. It's to highlight why you want to be a doctor. Some of the things you're talking about may be better suited for a secondary that asks about such things.

I second that 100%!

Focus on "Why Medicine" and "Why you".

Thanks for the fast response. Ok that gives me a good idea already of how I should be focused. Should I post to you my introduction at this point and then just give you a rough idea of how I am planning to write the rest of it?

I wouldn't recommend openly posting any of your PS. Stick to PM for that.
