I am attempting to write a PS for my application for pediatric residencies and was wondering if anyone could give me some hints or pointers on what to do/what not to do? I have a rough draft and will include it as an attachment....any feedback would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks.

I read it and it sounds pretty good. I don't think I would change very much at all. With peds it is good to speak from your heart. Good luck

Just for future reference to anyone who reads this. It's always a bad idea to post your PS online anywhere. There's a high likelihood that someone will "borrow" some of you words for their own PS and if they apply to the same programs as you, you're SOL if the PDs notice. I'm not sure the odds of this happening, but it's still not worth the risk.

This is correct. I strongly discourage posting significant amounts of your PS for any program, residency or fellowship. It is not prohibited specifically however so I've left it in place. I think that copying is one concern, but equally important is that it is much like using your real name on SDN - generally not a good idea to have that much personal information be obviously on-line.

to the OP, I think you've probably gotten the feedback you'll get and I recommend deleting your attachment. If you would like me to do that for you., PM me.
