im having trouble with the application i dunno what to write in my personal statement. the bottom line is i like to help people i use to be an emt, dental school applicant...however podiatry appeals more to me...the lifestyle...and most importantly the importance of podiatrists in a society where diabetes is very common..

Expand on the diabetes part...

It's a "personal statement" for a reason. Why are you asking for help on what to write about? the only help you should be getting is during the editing process to make sure your essay clearly conveys the intended message to the reader. Prepare to get hammered by some of the other posters

In regards to the personal statement. Go to barnes and noble and buy a book by princeton review that has like 40 successful MD personal statements. One of the problems you will face is that 500 words is not a lot. Read the book, underline and highlight and it will surely help you with ideas. Yes, this has to be YOUR personal statement, but I found it to be very helpful in getting the ball rolling. Also, have anyone and everyone that knows you read it, regardless of if they have knowledge of medicine. Do not be afraid of feedback or embarassment.
