Hi everyone!
I recently graduated from a California university with a 3.315GPA and 2.94sGPA. I want to take upper-division biology classes that could help my application, but I don't know where to start and which ones to take.
Some people say to take college community classes, and others say to take university classes because medical schools like uni classes more; still, most post-bacc programs offered by universities here in California are geared more toward non-science career changers. I've looked into the UC Berkeley extension program, but I've heard most medical schools don't like online classes, so I'm stuck because I also want to save money.
I have 2000+ hrs of research, 284 hrs of volunteering, 300+ hours of shadowing, but 0 hours of clinical. I purchased a medical assistant certification program that I will soon complete in order to increase my clinical hours.
I haven't taken the MCAT yet, but I was planning on taking it in February of 2027 and then applying for the 2027 cycle. (Please tell me if that's even a good idea.)
Would much appreciate any advice 🙂
