Due to a convoluted academic history I'll be needing to wrap up my current degree before running out on the max credits for financial aid. This will happen before I complete all my med prereqs. My original plan was to finish them incorporated into a diy postbac, however if I claim a new major (bio/chem) after graduating, I would be able to get priority registration as well as the remaining fafsa undergrad max (to my understanding it can be applied to a second degree as well within lifetime limits). My financial situation lends itself to the later as well. I would not actually be completing the 2nd major but would just run with it until needed classes were knocked out. Would med schools view the grades from this '2nd' major as rolled into undergrad GPA or as a post-grad GPA? Is there any disadvantages of doing things this way I may not have considered?
