My top 4 programs in no particular order are University of Chicago, University of Pittsburgh, Vanderbilt, and Cleveland Clinic. I plan on going into academics. Location doesn't really matter to me because I can be happy anywhere. If anyone has any words of wisdom on these programs, I would appreciate your input. Thanks so much.

Personally, I believe UPMC and Vandy are the best. CCF is good as well but I am not sure if it is the best for becoming an academic pathologist. U of Chicago has good research but relatively low volume of specimens, may be better if you wish to pursue a research career.

Chicago and Pittsburgh for academics. Maybe Pittsburgh since it seems top notch in everything.

From what I hear Vanderbilt is a good program, but you get worked unnecessarily and incredibly hard on surg path.

ALL rockstar prgms. Choose based on where you'd like to eventually end up. Trust me, you'll make connections with local community pathologists during residency/fellowship which can be helpful come job-time.
