Hello,
I heard from a few people that the Army offers help with residency placement in return for a few years of active duty. Where can I find more info on this? If I do an army residency do I go through the match or are they signed outside the match? I am an IMG, but a US citizen does it matter that I am an IMG?

if you can provide a phone number or email address of who to contact to get more info about residency placement that would be great.

thank you in advance for your help.

There is an awesome sticky at the top that will explain it all. Prepare for a long read. Steve (and it is NOT residency placement. Not even close.)

My former residency program director mentioned that the Navy is taking IMGs now. What they are doing is putting them in military residencies. Once they complete the residency they are US graduates.

No they're not, they graduated from foreign school thus they're considered IMGs or FMGs based on your citizenship status. But once you finish your residency that all doesn't matter anyway because you're a licensed physician and can practice medicine.
