  1. Fellow [Any Field]
I can't believe I am doing this, I always thought it was lame when other people did it but I am literally losing sleep over this. I cannot seem to make up my mind about my top 5 programs, everyday I keep scrambling them around.
Some things about me: I will certainly do a fellowship, right now I am debating between Gyn/Onc and MFM obviously for different reasons. I am single, male so ease of raising a family is not an issue for me. I also have no real geographic limitations because nobody will be moving with me.
Here are the programs in alphabetical order: Albert Einstein Montefiore, Baylor Houston, UAB, WashU and Yale.
At this point I feel like I could be happy at any of those but I could make an argument for ranking any of those #1.
Any help would be appreciated.

Here's what helped me a bit as I was agonizing over my first two choices:

Start looking for a place to live, using online resources if you are far away. Once I started trolling www.realtor.com, I realized that I was much more excited about the idea of going to one place over the other. If you find yourself thinking about how excited you will be in a few weeks to be starting your move to location X... go with it.

This might be a good "tie breaker" since you should be fellowship bound without too much of a problem at any of your top 5. 😉

I had a similar situation (as far as indecision goes), even with my little neurotic spreadsheet, programs 2-4 had exactly the same score. I really did it by gestalt. Clearly everything else balanced out to be even, so I just thought about how the interviews themselves actually went. One place, it was very conversational, fun. That became number 2. And so on.

Once you're sure they all have the basics of what you need, I'd just go with feeling--after all, this is a huge time commitment.
