Hey, everyone, Greetings.

Now I have picked up my top 3 choices and it is kind of hard for me to decide the exact order of the three. They are Mayo clinic, Vanderbilt and University of Wisconsin-Madison. I like all of them and each one of them have their own uniqueness which attracts me very much. Could you kindly help me with your knowledge about these programs? Which one is most beneficial to my career? I would like to stay in academia after graduation. I have interests in research and teaching, especially interested in doing some clinical research. I have no preference over the issues of geography or city size etc.
Also how about UT-SW at Dallas? Anyone would think it should be put before any of the three?

Greatly appreciate your inputs.

All four programs are respected, all four will give you a good start on clinical research if you pursue it. None of them will hurt your career, and all of them are potential launching pads for academic psychiatry. If you truly have no geographic preference, ask yourself: "Was there a potential mentor here that I connected with?" or "Is there particular research going on here that I REALLY feel excited about hitching my star to?" Those answers will have greater bearing on your career trajectory than the specific program.
Good luck!:luck::xf:

Thank you. This makes sense and helps a lot.

The only one of those that I interviewed at was UTSW. One thing that struck me about UTSW that was relatively unique were all the specialized 'research' clinics they had, ranging from SA, to schizophrenia, to bipolar, etc. Having that kind of clinical research support in the very infrastructure of the department seemed pretty darned impressive.
