I guess this is a What Are My Chances/School list post... Any input would be helpful. Starting to get neurotic. Here goes...

BS in Molecular Biology 2011

cGPA 3.25

sGPA 3.23

MCAT 502, (127/125/125/125)

I work as a Bone Marrow Technician in a large health care system. This means working with two pathologists performing biopsies in patient rooms. 2500+ hours of patient contact and physician shadowing. Excellent LORs from both physicians I work with on daily basis.

200+ hours of volunteering in a local detox ward.

Also volunteering at a large hospital directly tied to a COM.

Research award from undergrad.

Shadowed a DO during several procedures and surgeries. Shadowing a DO for a week at the end of this month specifically for a strong LOR. He is an oncologist and I have biopsied many of his patients at work.

Also, I am enrolled in 2 courses this fall and 2 more in the spring. Fall includes Cadaver Anatomy and Neuroscience in hopes of bringing GPA up and to address the issue of being out of school for so long.

Oklahoma Resident. Thanks for any input.

Personally, I think if you can afford it, all the schools except maybe Western, and Touro CA. Your stats seem low-er but then again reading on these forums we see 3.5s getting rejected some places and 3.2s getting in others. You seem like an old applicant which I think is what DO schools like-non traditional.
Apply to all honestly, if you get into one, you save your money of applying to 18(maybe rejected), and then applying to another 18 the following year.

Yes, I am old... 30 years. I figure its all down here from here. =) thanks for the input.

Didn't mean it as an insult, just that DO schools tend to take people with industry experience etc, who later on decide to become a physician.
30 isnt too bad but yes, you want to maximize your chances of getting in, so apply all schools, infact apply to western and touro ca, it doesnt hurt, you can chose to fill out the secondary later.

No insult taken.

@Goro , I choose you! Hate to do it, but I value your opinion.

We have similar stats OP haha 3.34c 3.29s 501 &500 MCAT.
Apply as broadly as you can. wishing you the best of luck. I have submitted 17 secondaries already, (18 tomorrow) and already have an interview invite. Anything is possible!

Agree, but skip CCOM and AZCOM.
