Hello! I am graduating from a UC school as a biochemistry major, and I am going to apply this upcoming cycle. I would really appreciate any input about my current school list - any feedback would be a huge help!

  10. Leadership: help teach an undergraduate biochemistry course, volunteer coordinator for oncology volunteers in the hospital, recruitment for clinical research program

The list looks good! Wish you the best of luck this cycle but I'm sure you will do well!

I think you should add more top tiers, actually. It's a crapshoot at the top. I'd add Harvard, Penn, Hopkins, WashU, the Chicago schools, etc.

Do you think my slightly lower GPA would affect my chances at these elite schools? I'm not sure if my MCAT score is sufficient to make up for my average grades

You're what @Goro would call a rock star; aim high and apply to your state schools as well. Good luck!

Yup, rock star. But you deserve much better than CN"u".

Suggest:
U AZ,
WashU
Cornell
Sinai
Vandy
Emory
ALL UCs, but not UCR if you're not from the Inland Empire.
Harvard
Northwestern
U Chicago
BU instead of Tufts

What MCAT with these stats would be a 'rockstar' ? Ie. 518+ with a 3.7gpa?

His ECs are decent for top 20s but not at all above average; a 3.7/518 might need a pub or a thousand hours of clinical volunteering in a hospice or something. As OP is? A 3.8/527 stands a good chance at any school in the country with ECs that are just a little better than cookie-cutter.
