Hey guys… I need help! I am compiling all the schools that I want to apply to before the application opens. I used the ADEA and ASDA books and also the Internet. Please read my list and let me know what you think about my school choices.

Here are my stats:

State of residence: IN
oGPA: 3.56
sGPA: 3.5
DAT: 18AA, 19TS, 20PA

Assume I have average LORs and ECs

I am planning to apply to 15 schools
1. Indiana
2. Tufts
3. Michigan
4. Maryland
5. NYU
6. Boston U
7. Pittsburgh
8. Kentucky
9. Buffalo
10. Midwestern AZ
11. Western University
12. Nova or Louisville

Long Shot
1. UPenn
2. UoP
3. UCSF

Let me know what you think! Thanks in advanced!

I wouldn't really put UCSF on the list. They are a bit snooty about stats and it's plenty competitive.

I'd also apply to a couple more private schools because some of the state schools are only OOS friendly to people with high scores/GPA etc.

With your stats, you're throwing away $500 applying to UPenn, UoP and UCSF. I think you can add USC if you don't mind the cost.

Hey guys..... To be honest, are my stats really low? Also, which schools do you think I should add? Is Nova a good one? I am also thinking about OSU or Minn.. Please let me know.

DAT is slightly low. GPA is average. Nova looks for a lot of upper division biology courses; I don't know much about OSU or Minnesota.

I interviewed at Nova and students looked happy there. The combination of your GPA/DAT seems avg. Pretty good GPA but DAT could be little higher. I'd apply broadly. Consider adding MWU-IL, ASDOH (if you have alot of volunteer hours), Case Western, Temple, University of Detroit Mercy, UNLV(they favor instate alot but wouldn't hurt), and USC.

good luck.

Thanks for the input guys! I have decided to remove my "long shot" schools. Currently, I am thinking about expanding my list to 20.. Too much?? or you think 15 would be about right? Any other schools I should consider [other than the ones that were suggested above]?

Right now, I am debating whether or not if I should include Kentucky, Louisville, Minnesota, or even OSU... I remember reading from somewhere that Louisville doesn't take a lot of Asians [I am an Asian, btw, not sure if it matters].... So I dont know..
