Have you considered a MCAT re-take? A significant improvement with your GPA could go a long way imho

Emory's 10th percentile is a 508 according to the MSAR, so I'm not sure if it's worth an app.

Also, for USF their 10th percentile is a 510 and they have in-state preference, so I think it's a waste of time.

I have considered a retake. Was originally going to retake in July but I'm only scoring around 507/508 on practice tests. I'm going to apply now and retake during the winter

I agree with both of these. I'm only applying to Emory because about half their seats go in state. As for USF, my top priority is location, and I just wanted to increase my chance of getting into an FL school. I still don't know if it's worth it though...

Oh, I wasn't aware of that. It might be worth it to keep Emory in the loop, then.

I think your chances are slim at USF. You can still apply if money isn't an issue, but I think you have a better shot at FSU and UCF. Maybe add FIU if you want another FL school. Both UM and USF are on the "higher-tier" of FL schools.

FIU isn't a bad suggestion, maybe I'll add that on.

Cooper, Florida State and the Arizona schools accept very few non residents with your MCAT. You could add Quinnipiac, New York Medical College and Creighton.

I really didn't want to apply to Cooper anyway. New Jersey weather is not my cup of tea.

I know about FSU, and it makes me very sad because that is actually the medical school that I live the closest too, but I'm on the wrong side of the state line 🙁

I had Quinnipiac and NYMC on my radar already, so maybe I'll add them now with your suggestion. Thank you so much for your input!
