Hey everyone, I'd like some help with my school list as I don't know anyone who has applied before me and I'm a little lost. I wasn't sure if I could consider schools for which the MCAT average is 519+. Also, as of now I was planning on doing a second year of research following graduation as I feel that is my weak point, but if you think I should focus my attention elsewhere I'd appreciate the feedback!
  1. cGPA and sGPA as calculated by AMCAS or AACOMAS: cGPA: 3.97, sGPA: 3.93
  2. MCAT score(s) and breakdown: 517 129/129/129/130
  3. State of residence or country of citizenship (if non-US): NY
  4. Ethnicity and/or race: White
  5. Undergraduate institution or category: Cornell
  6. Clinical experience (volunteer and non-volunteer): 120 hours in children's hospital, 100 hours during service trip to Guatemala
  7. Research experience and productivity: 1 year in biochemistry lab, staying a second year following graduation, nothing published so far
  8. Shadowing experience and specialties represented: 300+ hours shadowing multiple specialties, 50 in OR
  9. Non-clinical volunteering: volunteer teach science at elementary schools for 4 years, camp counselor for special needs camp for 6 years
  10. Other extracurricular activities (including athletics, military service, gap year activities, leadership, teaching, etc): Teaching assistant for senior year, executive council of two different organizations for two years each
  11. Relevant honors or awards: Two different academic honor societies, dean's list every semester
  12. Anything else not listed you think might be important

You could add more clinical volunteering hours (100+) before you apply. I suggest these school with your stats:
All 4 SUNY's
Cornell
Rochester
Hofstra
Einstein
Mount Sinai
NYU
Pittsburgh
Case Western
Washington University
Cincinnati
Duke
Miami
Tulane
Tufts
Boston University

Research isn't your weak point, clinical volunteering is. How many hours of nonclinical volunteering do you have?

Teaching children is about 120 hours, camp was about 200 hours per summer but only one summer was during college, the rest before.
