Help with school list? Sorry :-(

So, I'm applying the next cycle, but I want some help with my school list so I can start in-depth researching them.

My stats: cumulative GPA 3.8
BCPM: 3.6 now, should improve before graduation
no offical MCAT, have done a practice one and made 35 before I
started studying, but I'm not sure if that's helpful.
2+ years of research in genetics by the time I apply
CNA certification, CNA volunteer at local free clinic, 2+ years by the time I apply
Lifeguard experiance, 4 years
Bio Club Prez, lots of volunteering/clinical, etc
I'm from NC
Will be applying as "disadvantaged"

So, here's my list. I know my chances at the UC's are slim but I have family there and California is my favorite place in the world 🙂. Yale and other reach schools just because...well, a girl can hope, right?

So, any suggestions on adding, removing, etc any school on this list, and any other advice on my application would be GREATLY appreciated.

My advice (although you may not like it) is to not pick out schools now. I feel like it's a decision better made when you have an MCAT score and are closer to applying. But keep up the good work.

I would say you would have a good chance (depending on MCAT score) at ECU and UNC just because they pref to NC residents and if you can get past the screening at UNC if you get a secondary your guaranteed an interview

You need an MCAT score before you can really start picking schools.

Having said that, I would drop Davis, Irvine, and maybe UCSD. None of them are very fond of OOS applicants (take a look at the MSAR), especially UCD and UCI. You stand a better shot at UCLA and UCSF, if you end up having competitive numbers for those schools.

Other than that your list looks good if you actually get a 35, if not it is probably top heavy.

Thanks for the input. I'm not really "picking" schools definitely, just wanted some input on if these seemed like good choices to really look into. I feel like I can get a 35+, since that's what I got on my practice test before I started studying, although I know it isn't really possible to guess something like an MCAT score. Thanks!
