Hey All,
I'm a bit unsure of how competitive I will be here, so I'm going to post my stats and some schools I have so far. Do you think you could throw out more suggestions?
Residency: Rhode Island
Undergrad School: Univ of Chicago, Biological Sciences/Music (2011)
GPA: 3.35 overall, 3.2 science
MCAT: 33S, 12PS, 10VR, 11BS
Note: D/B/B in 3 science courses one quarter due to death of my best friend...this is a story that'll be in the pre-med office LOR
ECs: -6 biomedical research conferences attended (presented at 5 of them as first author of a poster or a 15 minute talk), 3.5 years lab research, couple of awards for my research from the bio dept.
-2 years presidency of my a cappella group
-3 years peer health educator
-2 years volunteer science/math tutoring in chicago public schools
-Resident Assistant in the dorm for a year
-75 hours volunteering in the UC Hospital
School ideas I have so far...(note: I heard UConn/Brown like RI residents from some people I know in RI. Dunno if that's true or not?)
-Brown (due to RI res)
-UConn (due to RI res)
-UIC
-Rush
-Loyola
Any ideas for sort of like safe schools I could hit? I dont care much about location, TBH, because I don't have a state school or anything. As long as you think it'd be a decent shot for me to try...Brown/UConn would probably fulfill my "reaches" quota already, hah. Maybe I shouldn't bother with UConn?
