Help with Search and Destroy

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
First I would like to clarify that I am correctly S&Ding:
-Skip passage entirely
-Read first question
-Skimming through section for the key words in the question
-Answer question, read second question
-Skim for answer and repeat.

But I am unsure of a few things. Do you start from the beginning of the passage every time you answer a new question? Are you reading the passage when looking for questions or just skimming to find the specific answer? Would it be better to skim all the questions before S&Ding then search and destroy the first, this way you have an idea of what else to look for or would this take to much time and defeat the whole idea of S&Ding.

Thanks!

I just started studying for the DAT so I'm not entirely an expert but.. I did manage to pull a 21 on my preliminary TopScore exam. (Before any studying)

What I did was read the question.. Find the keywords.. And then skim through the passage until I found the keywords to match it to and then I just found the correct answer. After I had it, I moved to the next one. Pretty simple.

After the first few questions, you have an idea where some other keywords are in the passage. This helped me with the remaining questions as I did not have to keep starting from the first paragraph. I could usually locate the appropriate passage immediately.

This is probably against the advice of some others here but if I could not find the answer at first, I stuck with it until it was located. If anything, taking the longer time to answer that question ALSO helped in identifying other keywords for future questions. I think it's a fair trade.

Best of luck to you.
