Hi y'all,
I recieved my acceptance today for TEmple. 😀 I'm wondering if anyone is willing to share room with me. I must be very behind of many procedures now.
Thanks,
PS: I'm a 21 year old female

Congratulations and welcome! You might want to get in contact with Pat Vanburen. She's the lady that helps with housing. Just give her your name and number, and she'll put you on a list of ppl who need housing. In addition, she'll give you alist of ppl who need roommates. You can call those ppl yourselves to see how compatible you are with them.

Just to let you know, most ppl end up living in summit. Temple seems to encourage you to live there from the fact that they give you this coupon for $50 off your first month's rent. There are other places as well that you could live in besides summit that I would encourage you to look into as well (ie, East Falls, center city).

Hope this helps and good luck with housing!

PS. Oh and btw...if you don't know already, I think you could also post an ad up for a roommate in that section on sdn. There's also craig's list as well: http://www.craigslist.org

Hey congrats molar...I know you were on the waiting list for a few schools so this must be a good feeling. Anyways, about housing you might want to reconsider Summit Park, becaue Ive heard and read a lot of bad things about it. Temple seems to push it so much because they probably make a cut out of every student that signs up. ANyways, goto this website and read the reviews on Summit Park:

Also, have you considered purchasing property and becoming a resident, because Phily is damn cheap and with the tuition you save, it basically pays for your place....pretty good deal. Consider it.....

Hey guys,
I can't afford to buy a house. SO i probably will stay in an apt or sharing with someone. I'm trying hard to make phone calls... :luck: I read stuffs about Summit park, kinda suprising. Pat told me a lot of freshman dental students live there for the convinience of car pool and facilities. I think i just have to go there and look. I really want a very cheap place to live

You would think so, eh.....but Philly is the 2nd cheapest major urban city in the United States to buy real estate (Buffalo is 1st)....I would suggest you seriously consider this option and look at house prices if you dont believe me, because since you just got accepted and are behind, take it from me...someone who has spent a lot of time researching.....

For instance, I bought a condo for $54,000 10 mins away from Temple in Roxbourough (where everyone lives...beautiful area) Since I got residency, I save $40,000 over my four years, so Temple basically bought my house.....and everyone knows real estate is always a smart investment and its bound to go up in price, and I can always sell it later to help pay off my loans....

Even if you dont have that kinda cash up front, if you take out a mortgage, and factor in your tuition savings, and the low mortgage rates, you'd still be paying less than rent AND will still save a ton on tuition.....

Highly Consider it.....Residency applications are due Sept. 1

THanks so much for your advice, I would think about that in the future. I'm currently on F1 visa, international student. I might get permanent resident after a year, hopefully. I"m still waiting for all the paper work Pat sent.. Still can't find a place to live. Hey Badvibe, you are so experienced, man. SO nice to have you as classmate. 👍

Hi, I also need a roommate. Just PM'ed you.
