Help with Ventilator Stuff

Can someone please explain ventilator settings, starting with the basics?

- Confused about BIPAP vs. CPAP. vs. PEEP
(what's the difference, and when is each one indicated?)

Also, as for the settings:
TV, Respiratory Rate, Fi02, and the actual ventilator pressure.

So, I've "memorized" that you want to keep the pressure at 15mmH2O max and the lowest TV 6/kilo to avoid Barotrauma and Pneumothorax...

But other than that, I have no idea when to play around with RR, TV, FiO2 etc.
