  1. Podiatrist
I have an issue. I plan on applying in December (when this semester's worth of classes is done) but I am having an issue with writing my personal statement. I know what I want to say, but I am not sure how to go about it, and I don't want to sound bad. I got interested in podiatry when I was 13 when I was involved in a car accident and not being able to walk anywhere made me get kind of interested in how and why my foot works the way it does. I went into Biology when I went to college and at first I had no idea what I for sure wanted to do, but while everyone was doing pharmacy and dental and medical, I for some reason, kept thinking about podiatry; so I shadowed, and I found that I enjoyed all that I got to see. Now I have to figure out how to put that in 4500 characters without making it sound bad. Can someone asisst me.

Thank you.

You certainly have some GREAT ideas. I would say that you are still in the brainstorming stage of writing.

Follow these steps: http://www.jsd.claremont.edu/prehealth/personalstatement.asp

Go see a pre-professional faculty member when you are done with your first draft. You could even ask a writing professor to look over your final draft before sending it in.

Good luck!
