So, I am DO student who took CS this week. I know millions of these threads have been created but I need to know how poorly I really did because I'm honestly thinking about signing up again. I am trying to get into a competitive specialty and I am pretty much screwed if I failed this thing.
I really just had an off day. I dont know what the h*ll I was doing.
I did the routine things like introduce myself, shake hands, remembered their name, washed hands, empathy, etc.
Things I did poorly:
For whatever reason I didn't list vital signs unless they were positive. One patient for got to ask about meds in a case where it was very pertinent. Also forgot an important lab on this case.
I left most rooms with 5 minutes to go, so I'm questioning whether or not my physical exams were crap. Don't know how I got done so early.
If patient's lost weight. I for whatever reason did not mention how much weight they lost in the note. Just said they were complaining of weight loss.
on one note I didnt have time to put in pmhx, pshx, allergies, meds, social, family history. This was an abdominal case in a female and I did not ask about ob/gyn.
On another case I literally blanked and put down 2 diagnoses that were definitely not correct looking back.
I'm not looking for anyone to make me feel better about this. I just need advice. I took it during the worst period because results come back before applications go out. Should I sign up now to reserve another spot? I would bet money I failed this.
