So I'm very confused... is it really bad to retake my DAT in late June, July? I have a decent GPA and I'm honestly freaking out. If I submit my application, what if my DAT scores don't get sent at the same time? Will they know if I took it again and it's pending or will they just see my first scores (which I'm not proud of)? I'm so lost. Please help!

Just email them.
I retook and I sent the schools a scanned copy of my new scores. Many don't accept unofficial scores, but at least they have a heads up that you retool them.

Do they immediately weed you out? I'm scared that's what they'll do to me.

if you tell them you are planning to retake soon, they will probably put a hold on the application until the scores come in, unless of course your overall application looked terrible they didn't need to see the new DAT score to reject you right away (hopefully not lol)

OK! That's more reassuring also, is submitting in July too late?

Schools usually only send rejections after
1.) They are finished interviewing. (rejection without interview)
2.) After Dec 1st (rejection without interview)
3.) At the very end of the application cycle. ( Post-interview)

Submitting in July is still early.

I wouldn't think it's terribly too late to kill your chances all together. If you do really well, it can really boost up your position, but if you do mediocre, that combined with late app complete date, it might hurt your chances. So kill the DAT!

If it makes you feel any better, I was rejected without interview to one school. I retook my DAT and contacted them.
They re-opened my file and considered me again.
They ended up rejecting me anyway, but the second look was another chance.

4.) Immediately after cashing in your secondary fees. 😡

I'm pretty sure on the application there's an area to indicate your date of intent to take the DAT under the exams section...unless they've changed that since 2013. Just submit your application and IMMEDIATELY email the schools that your applying to that you've sent in an app but you're taking the DAT on (insert date here). Make sure they communicate back with you and that you see that they will take that into consideration.
