Does it look bad if you choose to write about your intellectual interests on a class you enjoyed a lot (related to your major) over research you did?

I don't think that it looks bad at all!! I also did research as an undergrad and it was that time that made me realize that I didn't want to go into research. I actually used that in my personal statement to explain that it helped steer me into the right direction or what I wanted to do.
