Hello, I am new to this forum and am so glad I found it. I just have a quick question, I am currently applying to dental schools and I have only selected 5 schools. Iowa, Creighton, University of Nebraska, University of Florida, and University of Oklahoma. So far, I have only received 1 interview from University of Nebraska, and I heard Creighton doesnt do interviews. Do you guys think I should apply to more colleges right now? I know it may be a little late, but I think its better to be safe than sorry. Like add a couple of more? My science GPA is a 3.15 and overall 3.4. I got 19 for TS, 18 Overall, and 18 perceptual on my DAT's. Let me know what you guys think, i'm starting to get worried now that I see everyone applied to a ton more colleges than I did, plus the fact theres so many more applicants this year.

Yes, I would definitely apply to more. It is pretty late in the game but you might still be able to pull some interviews. I would apply to at least the following if I were in your situation:

- NYU
- Boston U
- Tufts

Again, If I were you, I would have applied to more private schools like Case and Nova. But I know for sure Case is already interviewing for alternate list and Nova interviews are filling up fast.

I have the same Science GPA, little lower Overall GPA, and exact same DAT scores as you: AA18, TS19, PAT18. My apps were received on ~Aug.20 and so far only have two interviews from Case & Nova. It is really competitive this year! I applied to 14 schools. Hope this helps.

My printouts were mailed September 14th. Do you guys know if I do decide to apply to more schools will it take forever again to send the printouts out to these schools? Because I know it took forever just to send them out the first time.

Also, I see Boston and Tufts let lots of out of state students in, so I guess I should definately apply to these, but however, anyone know if they are already filling up, or are close to all their interview slots?

I'm not too sure about the selectivity of the other schools but Iowa really tends to favor in-state applicants over out-of-staters. (I'm sure a lot of universities tend to follow this same approach since they get more funding this way.)

I agree with the others...try applying to additional private schools. 🙂

Well, just sent out extra applications to Tufts, BU, and Nova. Hopefully, it doesnt take aadsas another 7 years to send it out. I'm so worried that by the time my application does get there, they will all be filled up anyways, hopefully thats not the case. It was dumb on my part not to apply to more schools earlier. But thanks a lot for your advice guys.
