Hey everybody,

Please help me out. Basically I took the DAT a couple of days ago and My scores were

QR-16😱
PAT-21
RC-22
Bio-20
GC-19
OC-19
Total Science-20
AA-19

I talked to the dean of one of the dental schools and he told me that this was below average for acceptance. My GPA is a 3.47 with the science being 3.35. I only had a 3.0, 2 years ago(after being in college for 3 years) and I have been working hard to revamp my GPA. I have been doing research and extracurricular activities to improve my resume.

Should I retake the DAT? Are these score competetive enough to apply to dental school? What would be the best course of action?

Thanks

How do you recommend that I improve my organic chem and my chem grades. Also my QR grade? Thanks

I didn't think they looked too bad, IMHO.

I'm no adcom though. Maybe call/email other schools and see what they say.

The chem's could go up a bit, definitely, but all in all, not bad.

Maybe the school you called is particularly competitive or weighs DAT especially heavy?

Reading on here, it seems like alot of people will be applying with low QR... although this is not a good sample size.
And there are all the people that took the test last year, etc....
