I applied for pod school, sent everything in 2 weeks ago, but my MCATs...

I then got an interview invite from DMU...

but now I'm freaking out... I just got back my MCAT scores and did really poor on them (b.c i messed up on one section, got 17P)

(gpa is like a 3.9, both my science and non-science are about that much as well)

will they now turn me away?

More than likely. The MCAT is the "great equalizer" so it carries the most weight. You will have to do amazing on your interview. If you really like CPMS, you will probably have to take the MCAT again.

it was really weird... it gave me like a 2 for verbal... I got a 9 and a 6 for the other two (sciences), and I got P for the writing...
I wonder if something went wrong with verbal part of my test... cuz there's no way I did that bad, maybe I striked through several answers instead of clicking on it...

I emailed admissions about this, and I'm waiting on what they say

That is weird. Hopefully something went wrong with the computer system.

you have to retake the mcat no matter what and you wont be able to take the mcat again until Jan 🙁... this is the only way to get into DMU

i dont think gpa (as long as it's in 3.0 or up), extra crics, major/minor..etc means to much compared to the mcat

even though everything else on your application looks close to perfect and better then most people, I bet admissions will see that one score from one section... and it really screws you over and tarnishs everything else, and that verbal score means you can't get in

which really sucks (I wasn't saying that to be mean just saying how one little dent in the car ruins the whole thing, which seems unfair)

who knows maybe they will see that P score on your writing, which is like 60-70 percentile i believe, and realize something went wrong with your verbal...

You'd think just by randomly guessing you could best a 2 on the verbal. It's possible the computerized version has some bugs (or is vulnerable to user errors), with it just being recently adopted and all.

If that's the case, you can hope it's happened to several people and the testing people recognize the problem. Mostly though you're just stuck with retaking it.
