Ok… so my problem is that I dont learn much sitting in class all day form 8-5 listening to lectures. I much rather study by myself!

In undergrad I attended classes that were thought well and skipped the ones I preferred to study by myself.
Here in dental school I guess I don’t have that option with the mandatory attendance…And since I don’t learn as much as I want in these classes I feel that most of my productive hours of the day is just wasted.
As a result of this I am starting to fall behind more and more…

Has anyone been in this situation? How did you solve it…?

Thanks

Put some earplugs in and study what you want, how you want, during class. I'm no different than you, I get more out of my time when I don't go to class, but either buck the system and ditch class or realize this is something you work around. Maybe you can't have your laptop out with four different binders and books sprawled before you in class like you might at home or in a library, but learn to deal with what you have to deal with.

I used to have a job that I could have easily done from home 4 out of the 5 days a week and just made all my appointments and meetings on a monday and gone in just once a week, but life's not always fair. So, just learn to study during class, or sleep during class and study at night.
