Hi, all
I am about to take the real dat. But I am really really scared. I wonder whether the real DAT matches topscore more or Kaplan on every section, especially about reading and comprehension? I am am really a slow reader. Nearly always, I ran out of time on the reading section. Any suggestion to boost up my speed so as to boost up my score?
By the way, how serious the dental schools look at your reading and comprehesion section?
Any advice is welcomed and appreciated!

For what it's worth, I felt the real thing was easier than the Kaplan and TopScore practice tests. You can probably expect to score a few points higher than what youv'e gotten on the practice tests. Just study as if it's going to be harder.

Also, I didn't think the reading was that bad, not anything really more complex than a newspaper article - I was afraid there were going to be full-fledged scientific journal articles or something. Nothing of the sort. I actually had way more time than I needed for the reading - reviewed almost all my questions three times.

Anyhow, if you've prepared just try to relax and don't psych yourself out on the exam. By the time my math section came up, I was so busy going over the other parts of the exam in my head that I ran out of time and bombed the math. Thankfully I had done well on the other sections but I got a 16 in math and it really pulled down my average. Basically just concentrate on what you're doing and forget about past sections / scores until after the exam.

For reading just skim, do not try to absorb the content. But read the question and hunt for the answer. Usually the question involves finding certain key words.

Good luck,

desidentist's right!

the real DAT'S format in the reading comp was exactly the same as the topscore pro format, atleast at my test center. it was question on top, passage on bottom. hope that helps.
