Help!

Hey all. The only DO's I know moved away, and I'm having a hard time trying to find one to shadow. 🙁

Does anyone here live in Orange County, CA? If so, any DO's you know that I could possibly shadow? Thanks!

DO's are pretty receptive to shadowing. Just find a few listed in your phone book with specialties that interest you, call their office, and ask them if they'd permit you to come in and shadow them for a while. That's what I did, and it worked really well (I spent 60 hours with a family doctor and 16 hours with a surgeon, 8 of which were in the OR.) Most younger DO's had to do the same thing when they were applying, so they know what it's like 🙂

Great program. I found several receptive DOs immediately, shadowed an Anesthesiologist (in S CA) a few weeks later, and it was an awesome experience!!! Highly recommend going through the AOA mentor match.
