Hi all,

I have heard that a DO applicant can replace their old grade with the new grade (better one). But I don't know how many course(s) you can replace the grade. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks,

I don't think there is a limit

Hey guys well let's see I have a Ws in the following

networking class-change of major
microeconomics-class given by mistake
calculus- class taken elsewhere because of timing
cellular and molecular bio-going to retake next fall
cognition-wasn't going to pass will take next semester

To me that looks like too many Ws. I'm doomed right?

I'm going crazy with the MCAT coming up this March and now all these classes.

Any advice will be appreciated.

Not even close to doomed. You will probably be asked why you took the W's and that will be the end of it. I think W's become a real problem when they reveal a pattern of students being incapable of making it through school. 5 W's over 5 completely different topics hardly makes you incapable.

OP- Be sure to e-mail schools to ask for details. I have heard (but don't have first hand knowledge) that some schools see at most 3 replacements as acceptable.

How recent are all of these Ws? If they are 4 years ago, especially the networking and micro classes, they won't be held against you much. Retake calc, Bio and Cognition to get a grade in them. Make sure you aren't making a habit of dropping classes, that will reflect extremely poorly on you.

The Ws were all in different schools too I forgot to mention that. I guess that's what I get for not making the changes I needed when I started at this new school. Oh well glad is offered next semester

The networking and micro classes are from like 08. I retook calc within the same semester in another school because of timing. I'm sure I can get a good grade in bio and cognition. I just re-registered for cognition for the spring.

Ok now I have a new problem, I have to drop orgo because I'm not doing so hot in it. Pretty much I dropped every class this semester except one. The problem here now is orgo will be offered next fall and I have to postpone graduation now by a whole year. This also means I have to wait for the application season. Instead of applying this upcoming May I will now have to apply the year after that. This also means I will have a semester free of no classes, I guess I can add something productive into that
