I am new here and for some reason I get emailed everytime someone posts on a thread I am "subscribed" to.😱 I do not want to be subscribed or get the emails. How do I stop the insanity?

Go to "User CP" up at the top of your screen.
In there you should see several large blocks, two of which are "subscribed forums" and "subsribed threads." Anything to which you are subscribed under that should have an "unsubscribe" button you can punch.
To prevent this with new threads when you post to them, un-check the box under the input screen that says Email notification. You can make this happen permanently under User CP, then Edit Options, then go down 6 input lines to "Use e-mail notification by default" and select "no"
