Hello SDNers 🙂 I need some advice!

I am taking a public speaking pre-req for two of the schools I applied to, but I know now that I will be going somewhere else and won't be going to those schools. It is the only class I'm taking this semester because I have already graduated. I am looking at dropping the class to get a refund because I don't need it but it will put a W on my transcript. Will the school I got into frown upon that W? Its not a pre-req for that school, I just don't want them to take away my seat or something because of a W or look down on me for it.... Any advice/experience is greatly appreciated!!

Dude, relax and just call up the school you're attending if it's okay. They won't rescind their offer just because you asked...

Are you past the drop/add period at your school? Have you already passed Census Date?

Talk to the Registrar on Monday and find out because if you drop it won't go on your transcript, but if you Withdraw, it will.

I would call the school, explain the situation, and ask. I think they would be fine with you dropping the class since it isn't a pre-req and obviously you'd like to save the money.

You got into Ohio, right? I emailed them about a pre-req and they were super nice and accommodating! After they cleared up my question, they offered me a seat as well! I bet they won't give you trouble about dropping it! 🙂

I'm sure it'd be fine to ask, and really, probably fine to drop it if you don't need it! Also, I'm sorry for thread jacking but how in the WORLD do I post from a mobile phone? I have the SDN app, but it seems to be only letting me respond, and not start a thread. TIA.

I was accepted to ohio last week and called yesterday to ask a similar question. I was told that the only courses I would need to actually complete are pre-req's, not the other science courses i'm in.
