hemagluttin inhibition test

Hi,

Could someone please explain how the hemagluttin inhibition test is done?

it is a test looking for putative serum Ab to a hemagluttinating virus. In absence of antibody or low antibody concentration, virus will hemagluttinate RBCs together and they will form a lattice and stay in solution. In high antibody concentration, Ab will block the virus's hemagluttinating protein and RBC will sediment at the bottom.
