Hello everyone,

Our first organ system block starts in January and I was just wondering what all of you recommend for heme/lymph block? Are there any good resources for it or is it the typical notes/FA/RR Path/Pathoma and question banks prep? I appreciate all of your insight!

I was saved by Pathoma's RBC and WBC disorders chapters. The good thing about Pathoma is that he shows you the bigger picture before going into the smaller details. That's something many professors don't do. Pathoma FTW.

Goljan's hematology lectures are some of his best. That plus Pathoma in addition to whatever you're taught in class will suffice.

Those lectures are the reason Heme is my favorite subject.

The coag cascade was a jumbled mess to me from my school's lectures and made worse by that crap diagram in FA. Listened to Pathoma, and it's like an epiphany. It just made sense.

Absolutely. The way lymphomas and leukemias, WBC/RBC pathology were taught in med school was horrendous. Goljan made it so enjoyable to learn oncology.

Question: Do you guys listen to the Pathoma audiobook (videoless) in conjunction with his book?

The videos are gold because he draws stuff. I don't need someone to read the book to me and the audio is pretty worthless to me without the associated drawings. I'm also a visual learner and I feel like I don't learn anything from listening to it (main reason why I didn't go to class in pre-clinical)
