For those with experience with heme path I have a couple of questions. How difficult is it to attain one of these fellowships? What kind of practice options do most heme paths take (i.e. heme path only or generalist)? Also, nowadays, what is a typical lifestyle/salary like for a hemepath compared to other parts of pathology? Thanks for your input!

If by lifestyle you mean work hours, then I would say that work hours vary from pathologist to pathologist and practice to practice. Work hours do not parse out along fellowship lines but along what type of practice you are in.

Subspecialization always has the potential for better lifestyles, but everything depends on the particular set-up.
